 | Province of Nova Scotia Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 43 | | Although labeled as a hostel...Kip & Kaboodle feels far from one. Just a few kilometers from Mahone Bay, this is a great location to get away from the city and relax. The owners Greg & Trudi opened this small hostel in August of 2004, and I arrived here just two months after opening. This made me one of their first handfuls of guests. Actually, they're not officially opened yet. There's not even a sign on the road indicating its existence! Greg and Trudi are seasoned travelers and opened this accomodation in the style that they found most appealing during their travels. They are the warmest, friendliest, most trusting people I've ever met running such an accomodation. They'll sit down and talk to you, getting to know who you are, what you're about, etc. They'll give you advice on the best things to do in NS. They certainly raise my standards of budget-accomodations!

A good location in Baddeck comfortable rooms with outside deck which has no partitions = we met a nice Canadian Couple here from Ontario and had a great time chatting to them on the deck then had a good meal in the restaurant with theml The restaraunt has a great buffet with lots of choices for breakfast and evening meal.
The views from the decks and restuarant are stunning the restaurant has greaat entertainment............Scots and Irish songs with some poetic license! Cape Breton folk who work here at the Silver Dart are among the friendliest and most helpful people out there. Leave a Comment

After telephone booking from UK and paying by credit card (which had already been deducted) we arrived after 2 weeks no hitch holiday in this great province we were told there was no record of any booking. So no room as the tall ships were in and hotel was full. On returning to UK and lots of Emails to Citadel it transpired that the booking had been cancelled before we even arrived. Speaking with the car park attendant at the hotel he replied "Nothing new there then"
5Very poor reservation staff I will give it a wide bearth next time. Leave a Comment Theme: Hotel

Perfect little cottages in a woodland and beach location in Ingonish managed and owned by an efficient and friendly English couple who moved here some years ago. Every kind of home comforts is offered here. A nice touch was the afternoon canopies which were delivered to your room and placed in the fridge to tingle your taste buds before dinner.
Seascape Cottages afford great views of Cape Smokey and the sea, just sit on your private deck and watch for Sea Eagles, whales and seals. I would stay here again and highly recommend the Seascape Cottages. Arrived on a Saturday morning to be greeted by the most helpful reception staff ever. After finding out where we had come from and time differences etc. we were offered free breakfast because the room was not ready. We were early so did not expect it to be just wanted to drop of our cases We declined breakfast (a bit travel sore) so she pulled out all the stops and got us another room in under 10 mins. Superb service in a fantastic hotel Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: 1725 Market Street HalifaxPhone: 902 425 1986Directions: Across from the Metro Centre & Liquor DomeWebsite: www.princegeorgehotel.com

This was the first place we had booked to stay, and the only one at that! However, on our way to Nova Scotia through the States we got lost and arrived quite a bit late for our reservation... it was 1:30 am! We knocked and rang the bell but got no answer, since nothing else was open in town either we decided the only thing to do was sleep in the driveway! To make a long story short, we rang the bell again at 7:30 am and were greeted by Nancy Allen. Nancy was horrified to hear we had slept in car and quickly ushered us in. After we had rested and showered she fed us breakfast, even though it was 10:30 by then, and well outside the normal breakfast time. Our room was very comfortable, and there were 2 bathrooms so if someone was in the shower you could still do your thing. Nancy and Deane have set up a room upstairs with a map of Nova Scotia and various other travel aids. But if all else fails the Allens themselves are very good travel guides and Nancy helped us map out our route home so we wouldn't get lost again! I would definantly recommend this B&B to anyone who happens to be in Amherst, Nova Scotia! Upon meeting our host we realized where this B&B got it's name! This B&B is conveiniently located in Lunenburg, walking distance to most stores and restaurants. Our room was the Nantucket Room and was very comfortable, with a ensuite bathroom and 2 twin beds. Breakfast is what will always stay in my mind when I think of this B&B though. Bob made us his famous Stuffed French Toast. The experience is rather undescribable so I will just have to tell you to go there and try it for yourself! It was absolutly to die for! A very nice place to stay, our hosts all greeted us warmly and our room was very comfortable and clean. The room had an adjoining bathroom that was small but functionable. Breakfast was full of choices and well prepared. I would recommend this B&B/Inn to anyone planning on staying in Digby. It is close to everything since it is right in town.

The Pictou Lodge is the best hotel in the Maritime Inns Chain in my opinion any way. Accommodation is in the style of Log Cabins dotted around the extensive grounds. The log cabins are beautiful and have a private outdoor porch where you can sit and relax. Rooms are simply but nicely furnished with satalite T.V. and a small fridge. All cabins are ensuit with plenty of fresh towels daily. The reception and restaurant staff really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome here.
The Pictou Lodge has a small swimming pool, there are extensive grounds where you can enjoy a woodland walk. The gardens are so relaxing with their brightly coloured adirondak seats with great views of the sea. You can have free bicycle hire and free use of boats are also provided if you fancy a sail on the boating lake. We were greeted by Carole who didn't shake our hands for the sole reason that she had just been working in one of her many beautiful gardens. Our room was called the Orchard View room and was cozy with 2 twin beds adorned with matching quilts. The washroom is spacious with a heating lamp for when you get out of the shower. Carole gave us a map of the area and showed us some places to go. We took her up on her suggestions and went out to The Look-Off and then back into Wolfville to eat at Rosie and Paddy's Restaurant and Pub. Upon returning we had tea in the sunroom with Ron and 2 other guests. Be sure to ask Ron to show you his 1925 Model T Ford before you go! He loves to show it off!
