  • Though I quite often choose hostels if I'm travelling alone I took up the option of a hotel on this trip as it worked out a good deal when twinned with my flights.

    I got assigned this hotel having booked my flights via LastMinute.com (the first time I've used them and I must say that for the price of the add on I was pretty chuffed with my deal).

    The hotel itself is unspectacular and predictable, but had all I was looking for which was air conditioning, a good location (in fact the location was excellent) and most important was the hygiene as it was nice and clean. Add to this pleasant staff and an ok breakfast I was pleased with what I got and found it no bother stopping there for 5 days.

    Especially as you are literally right in the middle of things and I had no problems finding a decent place to eat and stock up on water as the hotel is surrounded by restaurants and shops.

    Stating this hotel has unique qualities may be stretching things but on floor 5 it has a terrace bar which has a great view. While grabbing a nice cold beer you can gaze at the Haghia Sofia on the one side and the front view provides a landscape of the bosphurus. For me the best quality of this hotel is the location. You are about 100 metres from a tram (Gulhane) and just under 5 minute walk from the trio of Blue Mosque/Haghia Sophia and Basilica cistern one way and a few minutes from Eminonu (port area) the other.

  • I spent 10 days in Erboy one of the sirkeci group.The room was not very big but sufficient, it has sat tv, telephone, air condition, bathroom with a shower, hair dryer, the towels are changed everyday.Everything is very clean.From window I could see aghia sofia, a piece of topkapi palace, and gulhane park.Erboy has 3 restaurants: terace one with a view on the golden horn, galata tower, and sultanahmet.Breakfast is served in another restaurant , fresh fruits , vegetables, charcuterie, all sorts of cheese an yogourt, different breads, home made cakes, fresh fruit juices.When I had breakfast there , I could'nt eat till the evenig.There is also a bar on top of the reception.Room service 24/24.Free internet.
    Erboy is very well located , close to tramway (gulhane), eminonu port, sirkeci station, sultanahmet , grand bazar, spice bazar.The pasazade restaurant , very elegant with a turkish decoration serves a real turkish cuisine, it has also a terace outside on the pedestrian street Ibn Kemal, with a big choice of restaurants, shops etc.
    The english speaking staff is very nice , friendly and helpfull.
    Aise the youg lady manager does more than any other hotels managers, , she helps everyone .Just ask her.

    I reccommend Erboy for all.

    Nice staff, nice manager, very good location in a safe street.

    Stayed for 4 nights having previously booked for 2 nights October 07 ( but then given free upgrade to 'superior' Koneki - top of their range 'boutique hotel.)
    The Erboy however didn't disapoint.
    Location in Sultanahmet ideal for the historical sites we wanted.
    Clean with attentive staff.
    'Guest relations managers' (seem the norm with this group) to sort out any problems?/requests.
    Restaurant and meals all you could ask for.

    Friendliness off staff
    Location for historical sites.
    Value for money.

    This hotel was a great choice for my stay. It was close to everything. I didnt want to be in the middle of the mosks but not far away from everything. The hotel location is ideal, close to shops, restaurants and mini markets if you need water or some snacks for your room.

    The room is clean and so is the bathroom. You can have a nice view from your room and had heater for winter time, which was great. I chose this hotel without any recommendation , just reviews in other website, but I would go back if I can.

    The staff is really friendly. They all speak great English and they helped in every way that they could everytime we had a question. Hotel have restaurant on-site with good prices and great food, also a bar to enjoy some drinks in the happy hour and free brekfast everyday (included with your room price).

    It was just a great hotel with a budget price! awesome!

    * 2 Min walk to tram line Sirceki / Gulhamet.
    * Free airport pickup if you stay more than 3 nights.
    * roomy lobby area to sit and relax
